This photograph is one of my own photographs for documenting in colour. I decided to use the technique Selective Colour to show colour through my work. As you can see the background is black & white but the subject closest to the camera is still in colour. I used soft lighting as I didn't want any shadows in the photograph. I took the photograph slightly from a side angle to make it look like the bus was moving through the photograph . I decided to keep the vibrant red bus in colour as I liked how the red stood out against the background & it helped portray the London theme that I wanted to create. I took a close up image as I didn't want to include too much of the background as I didn't want people in the photograph & I wanted you to be able to read the bus number & where its going (Hampstead Heath 24) to show that its a London bus.
Overall these photographs connect because they both use the technique selective colour. They also connect because of the London theme & the red colour scheme running through both photographs. The lighting in both photographs are also the same. On the other hand these photographs differ as they are of different subjects, the first photograph shows a telephone box and my own photograph shows a red bus.
